The following are the basic requirements for application of membership in the Long Beach Yacht Club:
· It is a requirement that anyone interested in applying for membership in Long Beach Yacht Club must be sponsored by a current member in good standing. The Proposer is expected to know the prospect well, to be aware of their boating experience and verify the applicant is of sound character.
· The Proposer will also be responsible for obtaining recommendations from two additional current members in good standing in the Club. Seconders should be aware of all appropriate information about the perspective member that is known by the Proposer and should provide their own judgment of the character of the applicant.
· Applicant should have boating experiences with sponsors and references.
· Applications may be requested through the front office by the Proposer only.
· Currently, the application process takes approximately four months.
Upon receipt of the application it is logged in and processed according to the date of receipt. The Membership Committee will thoroughly investigate all applicants and recommend approval or denial of membership to the Board of Directors who make final determination of acceptance or denial.
