Adult Sailing

LBYC is a proud leader in developmental adult sailing programs. Our programs showcase a fleet of 8 like-new Soling sailboats, owned and maintained by LBYC. The Soling is a 27ft keelboat excellent for all levels of sailing instruction. The Coaching Staff is led by Adult Sailing Coordinator Mike Fratantoro, along with 10+ volunteer coaches. Our coaches are all members of LBYC and include experienced sailors, coaches and racers. They are extremely passionate about the sport and love sharing their knowledge and experience with their fellow LBYC members and guests.

Year Round Programs

Throughout the calendar year, we offer weekend clinics for adult sailors at the 101 Beginner and 201 Intermediate levels, 301 Spinnakers, 401 Fleet Racing, and 501 Match Racing.  In addition to programming, we also host monthly regattas as part of the Saturday Soling Series.

Training Regattas

Designed as an opportunity for members to race the fleet of Club Solings year round in an instructional regatta format.  Includes a mandatory skipper's meeting each race day which will cover specific rules topics and general plan for racing.  Each race day will have separate registration and be scored as a standalone regatta.  This is a great way to continue developing the skills from 201 Intermediate Sailing and make the transition to the Wet Wednesday B Fleet.
